Welcome to the HIMSS Washington State Chapter, a local chapter of the Health Information and Management Systems Society, focused on providing leadership in healthcare for the management of systems, technology and information. The Chapter promotes an organized forum for continuing education and exchange of ideas amongst its members to improve healthcare information and management systems that support patient care and wellness. We have significantly upgraded and expanded the content of our chapter website. Our objective is for the website to function as our primary method of communication between and amongst YOU, the members that we serve. HIMSS Washington is an Affiliated Chapter of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society.

Follow the Progress of e-Health Collaborative Enterprise

The eHealth Collaborative Enterprise (eHCE) is a work group within the Health Care Authority that is responsible for coordinating statewide activities relating to the federal HITECH Act and state health information infrastructure activities.

The Vision of the eHCE is to improve health care quality and efficiency by facilitating access to comprehensive electronic health information whenever and wherever needed.

The Mission of the EHCE is to form working partnerships with public and private organizations to encourage and promote activities that protect public interest and support the eHealth Collaborative Enterprise Vision, including:
  • Creating a statewide system for health information exchange that allows electronic access to health-related information, using nationally recognized standards;
  • Helping providers meet "meaningful use" criteria with certified electronic medical record systems;
  • Helping consumers access their electronic health record;
  • Educating medical professionals and their support staff to use health information exchange technology;
  • Helping make TeleHealth and TeleMedicine possible; and
  • Advancing research and development of new or enhanced health information technology.
The eHCE is also responsible for providing clear and timely communications to promote accountability and transparency. Visit the eHCE Website for access to the eHCE electronic mailing list, newsletters and to provide your feedback. The eHCE is always interested in knowing whether its communications meet needs and expectations.
