Welcome to the HIMSS Washington State Chapter, a local chapter of the Health Information and Management Systems Society, focused on providing leadership in healthcare for the management of systems, technology and information.
The Chapter promotes an organized forum for continuing education and exchange of ideas amongst its members to improve healthcare information and management systems that support patient care and wellness.
We have significantly upgraded and expanded the content of our chapter website. Our objective is for the website to function as our primary method of communication between and amongst YOU, the members that we serve.

Federally Funded HIT Regional Extension Center (REC) A Potential Reality For Washington State
Providers in pursuit of assistance to achieve "meaningful use" of electronic medical records systems (EHR's) by 2015 may have a source of technical assistance through a federally funded program administered through a regional center in Washington State.
Qualis Health, an independent, non-profit organization that provides healthcare quality improvement and care management services has applied and is now the finalist as the HIT Regional Extension Center (REC) for the states of Washington and Idaho.
Qualis has prepared a briefing letter outlining the role of REC's Click Here and a FAX form Click Here that providers should submit to convey interest in the REC program and the types of services they would seek should federal funding become a reality.

HIMSS Washington is a volunteer organization whose primary goal is to bring quality healthcare educational programs to Washington State. We are always interested in speaking with chapter members and other interested parties who wish to contribute a portion of their free time to enhance the quality and number of our events, while concurrently advancing the stature of Health Information Technology professionals in our state.
